INSTALLATION: SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS
In Splendor in the Grass, Droog creates a “kinesthetic camping ground” which explores the multiplex concept of sex, human relationships and the senses. Visitors are invited to explore a selection of “camping tents,” each designed as a microcosm of sensorial activity, which aim to analyze the identity of sex and connect the visitor to phases of stimulation and the thrill of arousal.
Based in Amsterdam since 1993, Droog is design company with global impact. From in-house design studio to worldwide distribution of products to their own hotel, Droog brings beauty, simplicity, relevance and playfulness to everything they do, distilling each project down to the simple idea of less+ more.
FUNLAND: Pleasures & Perils of the Erotic Fairground is an immersive art installation which features a selection of “carnival attractions” for audiences to enjoy and experience while they contemplate the sexual subtext of carnivals. Inspired by the rich history of fairground eroticism, the “attractions” in FUNLAND are designed to stimulate all five senses in both subtle and not-so-subtle ways.
The studio of Bompas & Parr designs spectacular sensory experiences on an architectural scale. Bompas & Parr were named by The Independent as ‘one of the 15 people who will define the future of arts in Britain’ and have worked with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Disney and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Past immersive experiences range from an inhabitable cloud of gin and tonic to a chocolate climbing wall.
